All-Party Parliamentary Malaria Group meeting on the ACT subsidy

18 July 2007

A meeting was organized by the APPMG on 18 July to inform British parliamentarians, those working in malaria in different capacities, and UK opinion makers about the global ACT subsidy.

The global ACT subsidy aims to make artemisinin-based combination therapies affordable and available, and to ensure that they remain efficacious in the long-term.

Prof Awa Coll-Seck, Executive Director of the Roll Back Malaria Partnership, explained how the subsidy will work. Other speakers included Sir Richard Peto (Academia), Dr Vinand Nantulya (FIND on diagnostics), and Dr Ian Boulton (GSK).

The presentations will be available shortly.
