Principles of UK CAM
Our Guiding Principles
The 9 principles that guide UK CAM are:
- We must break the silence about Malaria.
- Malaria is a global emergency which requires a sustained and effective response.
- The MDGs goals must be achieved.
- Parliamentarians, media, civil society and other non-State actors must scale up efforts to give malaria the attention it needs and demands.
- Malaria is a human rights issue - Promoting, protecting, and fulfilling human rights is central to fighting Malaria.
- Every human being has the right to adequate malaria prevention, education and treatment.
- The nature of the Malaria epidemic requires that the primary focus of our efforts be on women, children and other vulnerable and marginalised groups; and that we address the broad health, social, and economic needs of those most vulnerable to Malaria.
- Commitments must turn into action.
- Strong leadership at all levels of society is necessary for an action-oriented agenda and effective response to malaria in the UK and internationally.
